WHO ARE WE?

We are the ones who carry stories across snowy passes.
We are the heartbeat of villages echoing through the boots of travelers.
We are the balance between bold adventure and quiet humility.

At Charity X, we walk for more than views — we walk for values.
This is not just tourism. This is transformation.

Born on the rugged trails of the Himalayas more than 20 years ago, Charity X began as a small group of Nepali guides who believed trekking could be a force for good. Today, we remain 100 % locally owned and operated, with deep roots in the mountain communities we serve. Every itinerary still starts the same way it did in 2005: with a conversation about how the journey can uplift people and protect the places we love.

Our Mission

At Charity Expedition Nepal (Charity X), our mission is to craft life-changing adventures that honor Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, safeguard its fragile ecosystems, and ensure that the benefits of travel directly reach local communities. Every journey we design is grounded in respect, impact, and authenticity.

Our Vision

We envision a Nepal where every visitor departs richer in spirit — having not only witnessed the grandeur of the Himalayas but also contributed to the well-being of the people who call these mountains home. We dream of mountain villages that thrive through tourism that is practiced responsibly, ethically, and sustainably.

Our Values

We are guided by core values that shape every journey we lead.

Respect means treading lightly and honoring local traditions.
Integrity ensures fair pay, transparent pricing, and honest communication.
Community is central — we reinvest 10% of profits into local, grassroots projects.
Resilience keeps us committed through challenges, from rebuilding to trail restoration.
Joy fuels every step, found in shared meals, songs, and meaningful connections.

People & Partnerships

We partner with LeadX Nepal and Katrina Webb for the New Day Leadership Journey, blending adventure with reflection.
Our long-term exchange with Brenderup Højskole connects Danish students with rural Nepal.
We also lead corporate and celebrity treks that support meaningful causes.

The People Behind the Packs

Our team is made up of over 50 experienced guides and porters from all across Nepal, representing diverse ethnic groups such as Sherpa, Tamang, Gurung, Thakali, and Rai. Their deep knowledge of the land and culture makes each journey truly immersive. Our senior lead guides are certified Wilderness First Responders, and many also serve as trained Leave No Trace educators — ensuring our treks are both safe and sustainable.
